Thank you for your interest in Western Province Preparatory School. While our website cannot truly portray the quality of life and learning that one experiences as a WPPS Student, we hope that you will find the following information helpful when making an application for your son.
Finding the right school is essential. Spending time with the students, meeting the staff, and visiting the classes are experiences that will help you make this important decision.
WPPS intake is in Grade N only, when boys are 4 turning 5 years old. There are a few places available for boys in Grade 6 and 7 throughout the year because of the class size structure in Senior Prep.
We accept applications from birth and invite you to apply today or feel free to contact us at admissions@wpps.org.za.

Anglican Tradition We are a Christian school in the Anglican tradition, teaching the Christian faith in an atmosphere of respect for others.
A Curriculum for Life The school offers a holistic, broad-based education in a boys-only environment. Quality Staff There is an excellent professional academic team and well-qualified support staff, who nurture the pupils and are specialised to cope with each developmental phase. The classes are kept small to increase individual attention. The entire staff works as an integrated team, and there is mutual respect for the contribution each member makes.

Old Boys Our school’s values, ethos, traditions and facilities are intertwined with the cumulative influences and contributions made by the past parents, staff and pupils. We have a long and distinguished past on which to reflect, and doing so affords us the opportunity to celebrate our wealth of achievements. We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our boys, both present and past.
To make the transition into Grade N easier, we would like to mention the following:
- The intake of Grade N boys will be staggered over the first three days of Term 1.
- The dates are Wednesday 15 January, Thursday 16 January and Friday 17 January.
- The Pre-Prep garden gates and the classrooms open at 07:30 every morning.
- The school day ends at 12:30.
- The Information Evening (parents only) and the Pre-Prep Bring-and-Braai (whole family) will also take place within the first few weeks.
SCHOOL SHOP
The school shop is located on the Bishops College Campus behind Founders House. It stocks all uniforms and school sports wear for WPPS.

SECOND-HAND SCHOOL SHOP
The second-hand shop is located on the Newlands Road campus and has an excellent selection of second-hand school uniforms, sports gear, bags, and essentials. Thank you to Myfanwy Abernethy, a current Wetpups parent, for managing the shop.

The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet fundraising programme is one of South Africa’s biggest community programmes. We raise funds for schools, charities and environmental organisations through a card system that allows supporters to raise funds for their beneficiary (school or charity) every time they shop at our partner stores. Partners make a contribution, on behalf of the supporter/cardholder, towards the beneficiary they have selected.
(PLEASE NOTE ALL FUNDS DONATED TOWARDS WPPS GO DIRECTLY TO THE WPPS BURSARY FUND.)
The system allows cardholders to make a difference to a worthy cause without it costing them a cent! The MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme raises more than R4 million per month for the schools, charities, animal welfare and environmental organisations it supports.
How does MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet work?
More than 700 000 South Africans carry MySchool cards.
Supporters apply for a free MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card and select up to 3 schools and/or charities as their beneficiary/ies.
When they purchase items from participating retailers they swipe the card with the purchase.
A percentage of their transaction is then allocated to their beneficiary.
The partner stores pay the contribution on behalf of the cardholder. All these transactions are recorded and a statement is sent to individual supporters on a monthly basis. The supporter card is not a credit or debit card but simply tracks transactions and funds raised.
Where can I swipe my MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card?
The success of the programme depends on the number of times you swipe your card. Supporters can use their cards at a range of national, regional and local retail partners on the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet system. Some of the national partners include
Woolworths, Engen Quickshops, Engen Foodstops, Waltons, kalahari.com, Toys R Us, Reggie’s, Power24 pre-paid electricity, MySchool Travel Altech Netstar and many more.
